A cap front is curved, tightly framed and sewn over a centre seam. A flat logo file stitched onto it stretches, shifts and puckers — lettering goes wavy, and details near the seam distort. Cap digitizing adjusts stitch density, direction and placement for that curve, so logos and lettering stay sharp instead of pulling out of shape.
It also accounts for structured vs. unstructured caps, and for front, side and back placements, which each sew differently.
